Made these during a long train ride on Friday. The girl next to me probably thought I was a bit weird. I blame it all on that amazing Buddy Holly-esque Darren Criss GQ photoshoot.

My gosh, not only is this wonderfully edited but the whole idea is just- just... Awesome.

These are really great. I had a bit of a Buddy Holly phase last summer, so I've already been comparing him and Darren (and trying not to think how tragic it would be if he died) although the only similarities I've really found are that they both love music.
Anyways, that scene is amazing. The only thing that I don't like about the Buddy Holly glasses pic is that jacket, it makes me cringe (GQ fashion is weird).

I just noticed that you even had him with records from the two labels, although it would've made my day if one of the albums had him as a solo act or under a different group name, with Blaine and the Pips as his "solo" act.
I know nothing about photo manipulation, but this seems very impressive.

Thank you! I agree, there aren't a whole lot of similarities between the two of them - but once I saw the GQ pics it was all I could think of lol. And yeah, that jacket is pretty godawful, but Darren just looks so happy to be there that it's actually my favourite picture of the bunch!

I considered doing a third record with Blaine branching into his solo career, but since the base picture I was using only had two records in it to start with, I decided not to clog it up with too many different things. I might take another stab at it later, though.

I debated a lot about that headline. I really didn't want to kill Blaine off, but it just worked so well with the original picture and the Buddy Holly theme...

But I like the idea of Kurt and Blaine getting another chance through reincarnation - the alternative is just too depressing! lol

Blaine's death was based on a combination of the original Chris picture (which had him mourning Judy Garland's death and listening to her records), and the GQ pictures that made me think of Blaine as a died-before-his-time singer a la Buddy Holly (though I imagine in this AU that Blaine died in a car crash rather than a plane crash). It seemed fitting, though I hated to kill him off.

I'd love it if someone were inspired to write the backstory, but I doubt it'll be me lol. I haven't written anything in ages.

I may or may not have actually teared up a little after seeing that first image and thinking about how sad the inspired story could be. The editing is so clean and gahh, oh so sad. I might be toying with some plot ideas in the back of my head right now...
